Jerry Hauck Proprietor / The Boss
Jerry’s Story: Before Jerry was a purveyor of craft beers, he was a well-respected local craftsman who built free-form and organic furniture. In 2003 he opened Craftsman Creek Gallery in what is now Monks House of Ale Repute. In 2007, Jerry decided to create something completely new in his building: a craft beer bar. Today, Monks is the leader in the local craft beer scene. Thanks, Jerry!
Favorite beer: Pale ales
Karen Budde Barkeep / General Manager
Karen’s Story: I love to travel and I love trying all sorts of beers. I spent a bit of time in front of the bar before being offered the position behind the bar and I still come in on my days off. I love the great mix of people that is the community of craft beer.
Favorite beer: Sours
Johnny Berkness Brewmaster
Johnny’s story: I started as home brewer, and helped set up the Gandy Dancer brewery. Brewing is half art, half science and half experimentation – wait, does that add up? It does in the brewing world.
Our taps always feature new and exciting flavors and styles of beer from around the world. Be sure to visit often, because many of the kegs we tap are often only available in small quantities or for a limited time.
